A Spoonful of Sugar...

My husband is out of town on business and I was gearing up for a fun evening of this:

Yes!!!  Almost as much fun as dental work.

But then I got to thinking...what if I added:

and

Suddenly an evening full of laundry is almost sounding...fun!  Shhhhh.

The only thing lacking tonight was my husband.  We like to watch fun British movies and TV together--but that's hard to do when he's out of town.  That he genuinely likes Jane Austen books and movies is only one of the many reasons I love him.

What do you do to whistle while you work?

  1. I'm sure you'll be surprised to hear that P&P is one of my favorite ironing/folding movies as well... :) Right now though, we have The Devil Wears Prada on the DVR (nicely edited for language) and I'm using that to take my mind off the task at hand. It even inspired me to style my hair today (flat-iron too) and wear something other than a hoodie & jeans.

  2. By the way, here's a funny clip of a Colin Firth / Meryl Streep interview from when they were promoting Mama Mia! The interviewer asks Colin if he's ever been in another movie with an exclamation point in the title & his response is hilarious. (It's at the 4:15 mark-- unfortunately, whoever put this montage together felt they had to have loud background music from Mama Mia as well.. Try to ignore it.)

  4. Your post cracked me up! Mostly because I put 2 completely clean and unfolded baskets of laundry back in the dryer to refluff. That was yesterday. I HATE folding!!!! Maybe some hot chocolate and a chick flick will do the trick :-) Thanks for the book recommendation, I'm getting a nice little list going!
